The Release Date of the Movie Has Been Announced. Kantara is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by Suseenthiran, starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role. It also features the lead roles of Nivetha Thomas, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Nithya Menen. The film is produced by Suseenthiran's production house Studio Green Films and will be distributed by Lyca Productions.

The movie was initially scheduled to be released on 12 March 2020, but it was postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India. The film is now slated for a theatrical release on 1 October 2020.
